Visitors can hike, bike, canoe, fish or camp along the banks of the historic James River or scenic Branch Pond. 1500 acres of rolling grasslands, quiet forest and beautiful vistas, as well as three miles along the banks of the James River. NEW RIVER TRAIL STATE PARK
New River Trail is a 57-mile linear park, or greenway, that follows an abandoned railroad right-of-way and serves as a link to a number of other recreational areas. Portions of the park include horse, boat, and bike rentals, a boat launch, camping, and a concession stand.
